Since 1995, I have dabled with web development. For over 5 years that meant simple HTML pages, a bit of graphic design and really just learning the basic right and wrongs of building web pages through experience.
During my university degree, I became more aware of the W3 and the standards they had set for XHTML and CSS. It became very important as I began to uncover and learn more about how to build and structure a web page.
My first job outside of university, at Newsquest Ltd, gave me the opportunity to work with web site statistics. It wasn't a glamorous role, but one I feel I became very good at.
Moving to Monkeehouse Ltd. gave me the chance to expand my knowledge in more than just XHTML and CSS. I was soon immersed in Flash and JavaScript heavy projects while learning and using PHP and MySQL all on the job. I gained invaluable skills there and have continued to develop them since leaving.
At XM London I was part of their small tech team and oversaw Front End Development for a number of new and existing websites.
Fast forward to mid-2008 and I am now an employee of the BSkyB corporation, working as an all round Web Developer with an emphasis on front end and PHP/MySQL technologies.
I am an avid Liverpool fan and I run a fashion based community website in my spare time.
If you would like to see examples of my work, please see my portfolio website which has a complete list of the projects I have worked on from 2004 to the present day.
